Senior International HR Business Partner

About the role

As a Senior International HR Business Partner you will be the go‑to expert for Oyster’s customers and internal teams, handling complex employee‑relations issues across Western Europe (Portugal, Italy, Spain) and supporting the company’s mission to enable global hiring.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic, solution‑focused guidance on high‑risk employee‑relations cases, including performance management, investigations, misconduct and terminations.
• Navigate local legal frameworks in multiple European countries, ensuring compliance while supporting business objectives.
• Draft and maintain country‑specific HR documentation, leveraging AI and automation tools for rapid updates.
• Answer HR tickets, train internal teams, and proactively improve country‑specific HR information.
• Lead cross‑functional projects and continuously audit workflows to reduce response times and elevate service quality.

Required profile

• 6+ years of employee‑relations and HR generalist experience, with hands‑on handling of complex, high‑risk cases.
• Deep knowledge of HR practices across multiple European countries; Portuguese, Italian or Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to present confidently to senior leaders and clients.
• Comfort with ambiguity, growth‑mindset and a people‑first approach.

Required skills

• Expertise in employee‑relations, investigations, performance improvement plans and terminations.
• Proficiency with AI‑enabled tools and automation for drafting and research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
