Senior Vendor Relationship Manager (Payroll and Compliance)

About the role

In this highly strategic and cross‑functional role you will own and evolve Oyster’s global network of external payroll and compliance vendors, ensuring scalable, high‑quality, fully compliant payroll delivery for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert and primary operational and commercial owner for strategic multi‑country payroll partners.
• Maintain deep mastery of end‑to‑end payroll workflows, cut‑off calendars, variance analysis and statutory filings across key markets.
• Partner with internal Pay & Payroll teams to monitor SLA compliance, data delivery and payroll cut‑off adherence.
• Define partner strategy, governance, scorecards, review cadences and improvement plans.
• Manage the full vendor lifecycle from selection and onboarding to transition or exit decisions.
• Establish baselines and monitor vendor performance through KPIs, SLAs and remediation plans.
• Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, pricing and service changes.
• Handle complex multi‑market payroll escalations, root‑cause analysis and executive communication.
• Identify and onboard new partners to strengthen global coverage and capabilities.
