Senior Product Engineer / AI Solution Architect

About the role

Santander is looking for a Senior Product Engineer / AI Solution Architect to join its Artificial Intelligence team in Madrid. The role focuses on designing, developing and evolving AI‑powered integration and migration products that support the bank’s digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the technical evolution of AI‑driven integration, migration and modernization products, including internal assets such as Alchemy.
• Translate roadmap needs, country requirements and product hypotheses into technical designs, epics, user stories and implementation increments.
• Design and build reusable components, APIs, connectors, agentic workflows, evaluation scripts and automation assets that can scale across use cases.
• Apply LLMs, agentic AI, RAG/GraphRAG patterns, code‑analysis techniques and workflow automation in enterprise scenarios, collaborating with AI specialists and DevOps teams.
• Work with vendors, architects and country teams to turn opportunities into robust, observable, and maintainable solutions.

Required profile

• Strong product orientation with hands‑on engineering capability.
• Experience delivering cloud‑based AI solutions at scale.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with AI specialists, DevOps, architects and external partners.
