Senior Product Owner - AI Products

About the role

SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, operates an AI Hub in Madrid that builds AI products on a shared platform. The Senior Product Owner decides what the product does and writes the specifications so precisely that engineers need no guesswork. The role works closely with the User Research Lead, from discovery with customers to shipping small, versioned releases.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the User Research Lead on interviews, demos and working sessions, turning findings into dated, evidence-based scope
• Verify requests by reproducing them in the app, reading code, querying data and checking logs
• Own the roadmap as a sequence of phases with clear purpose, guardrails and open questions
• Write specs at story depth, with acceptance criteria and an explicit out of scope, and build working HTML prototypes on the design system
• Write tickets that an AI agent can close, answer questions the same day and ship in small, complete, versioned phases
• Own labels, empty states, error messages, Help Center articles and release notes, measuring outcomes against success criteria

Required profile

• Several years owning a B2B or enterprise product with real customers and real releases, including decisions reversed
• Experience in user research and feedback triage, ideally alongside a dedicated researcher
• Comfortable with SQL, code, APIs, data models and permissions, without writing production code
• Uses AI tools daily, knows where they invent, and keeps a clear view of what to delegate
• Writes precise English and focuses on measurable outcomes
