Senior Product Owner - SACM (Hybrid)

About the role

Swiss Re's IT Resilience organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Product Owner to drive the evolution and delivery of its Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) products. The SACM ecosystem, built around ServiceNow CMDB, custom backend services, APIs and automated data integrations, supports IT resilience, operational decision-making, risk management and regulatory compliance. The role is hybrid and based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Drive product strategy, quarterly planning, backlog prioritisation and Agile delivery, balancing business value, risk, technical debt and operational needs.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the SACM technical ecosystem (backend services, databases, CI data models, APIs, integrations) and contribute to solution design.
• Improve CI modelling, onboarding, lifecycle management, dependency mapping and CMDB coverage, strengthening data quality and governance.
• Elicit, analyse and challenge requirements, manage stakeholder expectations and communicate product priorities, progress and risks.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and modernise SACM, including AI-enabled solutions, aligned with enterprise architecture, security and responsible AI principles.
• Own product service outcomes, reliability, risk remediation and technical debt, define and monitor KPIs, and support audit, security and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 5+ years in Product Ownership or Product Management, with accountability for roadmaps, backlog prioritisation and delivery outcomes in Agile environments.
• Experience with software engineering teams on technically complex products (backend services, databases, APIs, integrations).
• Experience delivering products in enterprise IT environments, preferably in financial services or insurance.
• Exposure to enterprise data platforms, automated integrations, data governance or emerging AI technologies.

Required skills

• Product management and Agile delivery, with familiarity with Azure DevOps, Confluence or comparable tools.
• Ability to evaluate backend architectures, relational databases, data models, APIs and microservices.
• Strong business analysis and requirements engineering skills.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, automation and emerging AI, and awareness of IT service management, operational risk and regulatory environments.
• Advantageous: knowledge of SACM, CMDB principles and ServiceNow; data governance and quality understanding.
• Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, ITIL 4 Foundation, ServiceNow CSA, CMDB accreditation or COBIT Foundation are preferred.

The base salary range for Spain is EUR 60,000 to EUR 100,000 for a full-time role, depending on profile and experience; a performance-based bonus may also apply.
