Senior Project Manager - GridBeats Software Project

About the role

GE Vernova is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead a strategic software development initiative supporting the GridBeats Virtualization Journey for Protection Relays. The role requires strong leadership, project governance, stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills to align cross-functional teams and meet quality, schedule and business objectives. It covers the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution to risk management, resource coordination, governance and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex software development projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring quality, timelines and business objectives are met.
• Maintain project schedules, resource plans, budgets, milestones and KPIs.
• Monitor progress and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and mitigation plans.
• Drive project governance, reporting, decision-making, reviews, retrospectives and lessons learned.
• Build relationships with engineering, product management, service, commercial teams and senior leadership, and communicate status, milestones and risks clearly.
• Coordinate Software Development, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Service & Support, Training and Technical Documentation.
• Apply Lean principles, monitor quality and delivery metrics, run root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Use AI tools for planning, forecasting, risk identification, reporting and productivity, and promote their adoption.
• Use project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira or equivalent.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Extensive project management experience leading complex software development projects, ideally in energy, industrial technology, telecommunications or electronics, especially electricity, power grids, wind, solar or gas.
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership and executive communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in Agile environments and cross-functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Agile environments and project management methodologies and tools.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certifications (Scrum, SAFe or equivalent) are a plus.
• Industrial software, energy management or digital product development experience is a plus.
• AI-enabled project management tools and methodologies are a plus.
