Senior Project Manager SAP MES (S/4HANA) - Pharma

About the role

Fusion Consulting, a global Life Sciences consultancy focused on S/4HANA, Data & Cloud and innovative technologies, is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with deep SAP MES expertise. The role leads complex manufacturing execution system implementations and optimization projects across pharma production facilities, combining strategic project leadership with technical acumen.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP MES implementation, interface and upgrade projects from initiation to closure, on time and on budget, with comprehensive planning and resource optimization.
• Manage cross-functional teams including IT, operations, quality and regulatory stakeholders.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and system performance to identify optimization opportunities and implement data-driven solutions.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations including GMP, FDA and EMA requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate change management.
• Report project status and progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders, and mentor junior project managers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years managing SAP MES implementations in pharma or life sciences.
• Proven expertise in SAP MES interfacing, configuration, customization and optimization.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, GMP and regulatory compliance (FDA, EMA).
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent agile certification.
• Ability to manage complex, multi-site projects with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: SAP S/4HANA implementation experience, Lean Six Sigma certification, change management expertise, and experience with multiple pharma sites or global portfolios.
