Senior RPG Developer

About the role

Cigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, is looking for a Senior RPG Application Developer to join its Technology team in Madrid. The ideal candidate has a strong background in RPG IV and ILE development and manages full-lifecycle software projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leading RPG-based applications from conception to implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications using RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, SQL and other IBM i technologies.
• Analyse business requirements and turn them into technical specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance in project planning, design and execution.
• Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet business goals.
• Optimise application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and keep documentation of system configurations, processes and service records.
• Stay up to date with technology advances and software development best practices.

Required profile

• Proven track record and high skill in RPGLE, RPG400, RPG IV and Free RPG development.
• Strong analysis and technical design skills, and knowledge of the full software delivery cycle.
• Experience designing complex solutions and working on multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Understanding of delivering business and IT programmes in an agile framework.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
