Senior Software Architect – API & Integration

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Architect to lead our API & Integration strategy at Canyon’s Tech Hub in Barcelona. You will shape the way our SAP, Salesforce and Azure ecosystems communicate, ensuring a clean‑core architecture while supporting the next generation of connected bicycles.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the current integration landscape across SAP S/4HANA, Salesforce and Azure to identify clean‑core violations and migration opportunities.
• Define and maintain API design standards, including contract‑first development, versioning, naming conventions and lifecycle management.
• Create reference architectures for SAP BTP extensions, event‑driven Salesforce integrations and Azure‑based Backend‑for‑Frontend layers for native mobile apps.
• Establish decision frameworks that guide teams on placing functionality in the platform core versus Azure micro‑services.
• Lead the “extract when you touch” migration approach, moving custom logic into scalable Azure services.
• Own the architecture review process, enforcing product‑oriented API contracts and governance.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to provide micro‑service boilerplates, CI/CD templates and Azure API Management configurations.
• Ensure all services are registered in the company service catalog with clear ownership and documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an architecture or senior technical leadership role.
• Proven track record designing and deploying scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
