Senior Software Developer - AI-Powered Automotive Solutions

About the role

Applus IDIADA's Digital Business team builds AI-powered digital solutions that turn complex automotive data into fast, reliable platforms for testing, validation and mobility services. It is looking for experienced full-stack software engineers to design and deliver AI-enabled enterprise applications, working with 60+ software engineers in a young, dynamic and multicultural team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services with Java/Spring Boot and Python, including microservices and RESTful APIs
• Build data access layers with Hibernate ORM and optimise queries for PostgreSQL and SQL Server
• Develop responsive frontends with Angular
• Integrate AI/ML services from AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker) and third-party providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini)
• Write unit and integration tests, containerise applications with Docker and deploy them on Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) across AWS and GCP
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as AWS Kiro and Claude Code

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development with strong expertise in Java and/or Python
• Proven track record delivering production-grade enterprise applications
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Fluent Spanish and English

Required skills

• Spring Boot, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, RESTful APIs and microservices
• AWS and GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD (GitLab, Jenkins)
• Bonus: AI/ML integration and Angular
