Senior Software Developer (Cybersecurity Automation)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for a Senior Software Developer in Madrid, working in a hybrid setup. You will join the Cyber Defence Solutions team of the Security Team, which develops, improves and maintains platforms such as Threat Intelligence, SOAR and its automations and playbooks. You will own the technical design and implementation of custom components and the setup and configuration of off-the-shelf components.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build new cybersecurity orchestration automation via API integrations
• Lead software projects on agentic transformation while staying hands-on in design and implementation
• Maintain and improve the performance, scalability and reliability of existing automations in the cybersecurity orchestration platform
• Work with threat detection security engineers to develop custom solutions for detecting and responding to emerging cyber threats

Required profile

• Track record of successful delivery in API integrations built with Python
• Experience engineering agentic solutions
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders from cybersecurity analysts to application owners
• Experience driving software delivery and mentoring other developers
• Nice to have: experience with cloud-native technologies, SOAR development, detection rules (SIEM, EDR, MITRE ATT&CK), and a background as a security analyst or incident responder

What we offer

• Base salary in Spain of EUR 60,000 to EUR 100,000 for a full-time role, depending on profile and scope
• Possible performance-based bonus
