Senior Software Engineering Lead (AI-DLC)

About the role

HP is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineering Lead to drive engineering excellence and lead the adoption of AI-driven software development lifecycle (AI-DLC) practices across the organization. This is a hands-on leadership position with no direct reports, focused on influencing outcomes, accelerating developer productivity, improving software quality and enabling teams to adopt AI-assisted engineering at scale. It is based in Sant Cugat del Valles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the adoption and evolution of AI-DLC practices across software engineering teams.
• Define engineering strategies that use AI to improve developer productivity, code quality, system reliability and delivery speed.
• Design, develop and deliver scalable software solutions across backend and frontend.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily workflows, including code generation, testing automation, documentation, code review and operational support.
• Promote best practices such as architecture, modular design, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability and platform engineering.
• Partner with engineering leadership to modernize development processes and operating models for AI-native delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across teams, contribute hands-on to development when needed (Python, React, APIs), mentor engineers and coach them on modern practices and AI-assisted development.
• Collaborate with product, business and technology stakeholders to turn business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience as a software engineer with a strong hands-on coding background.
• Proven experience in Agile development environments.
• Ability to define clear technical specifications for complex solutions.

Required skills

• Strong programming in Python.
• Frontend frameworks such as React.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Backend systems, APIs and system design.
• Testing and automation practices.
• Highly valued: hands-on experience with AI / GenAI tools in a corporate environment and applying AI to development workflows.
