Senior Solution Architect

About the role

Colliers is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join its growing Enterprise Architecture team in Madrid. The role leads the design and delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions across the technology estate, working within the patterns, standards and reference architectures set by Domain Architects, and mentoring junior architects while collaborating with delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex solution architectures for Colliers' systems and products, partnering with engineering and platform teams
• Author and maintain architecture artefacts such as Preliminary Architecture Blueprints, Solution Design Documents and Architecture Decision Records
• Engage senior stakeholders across Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Commercial Technology, Corporate Technology and business leadership
• Apply cloud reference architectures, patterns and standards from Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, covering application, data and integration
• Lead architectural reviews and assessments, identify technical risks and recommend mitigations
• Mentor and coach junior Solution Architects and technical staff
• Guide delivery teams through architectural governance, design reviews and policies, and advise business stakeholders on the value and trade-offs of architectural decisions
• Analyse technical requirements and constraints, and stay current with emerging technologies, leading proof-of-concept initiatives
• Lead responses to audits, technical due diligence and architecture assessments, and contribute to improving the Enterprise Architecture function
• Act as an embedded architect within product and delivery squads, and use AI-augmented tooling responsibly in line with company policy

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
• Track record of leading architecture of multiple non-trivial systems, including at least one greenfield and one brownfield engagement at enterprise scale
• Extensive experience designing and delivering large-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, with multi-cloud expertise
• Familiarity with commercial real estate technology (property management, valuation, capital markets, IWMS) is a strong plus
• Experience as an embedded architect in a product-based organisation is highly desirable

Required skills

• Cloud-native services: compute (VMs, containers, serverless), storage, networking, databases and integration patterns
• Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and modern software delivery
• Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, including cloud migration strategies
• Enterprise architecture certifications such as TOGAF are beneficial but not required
