Settlement Officer

About the role

The Settlement Officer is responsible for daily settlement, reconciliation and financial exception management across the bank’s Cards & Payments portfolio, supporting both issuing and acquiring activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily settlement processing for cards and payments products, ensuring accurate reconciliation with schemes, processors and internal records.
• Validate settlement amounts, manage exceptions, and escalate material differences to senior settlement leads.
• Conduct end‑of‑day balancing and reconciliation of issuing and acquiring transactions across all channels.
• Liaise with card schemes, processors and internal stakeholders to resolve settlement discrepancies and support dispute and chargeback investigations.
• Maintain settlement records, prepare regular reporting and monitor trends to identify control concerns.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in banking operations, payments processing, settlement or reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of general‑ledger reconciliation, financial controls and exception management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with operational and financial reporting tools.
