Software Back-end Architect

About the role

Shiji Group, which provides software solutions for the hospitality, food service, retail and entertainment industries, is looking for a Software Back-end Architect to join its Barcelona team. You will design, develop and maintain large enterprise applications with a focus on security, scalability and best practices, working in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-level applications for large-scale systems, ensuring scalability, reliability and performance.
• Work with development teams to implement coding best practices, reduce code complexity and run static analysis.
• Ensure compliance with OWASP security standards and integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain RESTful platforms and APIs, and implement CQRS architecture to optimize data handling and performance.
• Refactor existing code for performance, cost reduction and maintainability, and lead data transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with cloud architecture teams to deploy applications on cloud platforms, and mentor development teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of messaging systems, CQRS architecture and its use in large-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in Agile teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills in English, and fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Java and Spring Boot for microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with static analysis tools and writing unit tests with high coverage.
• Nice to have: AWS, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps, Kafka, Hadoop, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cassandra), MySQL, Docker and Kubernetes, and modern front-end technologies.
