Software Engineer Intern - Web Development

About the role

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPS), a fast-growing semiconductor company worldwide known for integrated power semiconductors and power delivery architectures, is looking for a Software Engineer Intern interested in responsive web design and modern web development. As part of its software team, the intern takes part in several stages of the software development lifecycle, from planning and design to development, testing and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop user-friendly, responsive interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js and Next.js.
• Support the creation of reusable frontend components and modern web experiences, optimised for all devices.
• Contribute to full-stack applications, including frontend features, backend functionality and system integrations.
• Support integrations with Magento, Strapi and other headless content management systems.
• Write well-designed, efficient and testable code according to specifications.
• Take part in team discussions on system architecture and design, and help identify and implement improvements.
• Maintain and upgrade existing software, debug, test and redesign tasks as needed, and prepare technical documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Interest in full-stack software development, system integrations and eCommerce frameworks such as Magento.
• Interest in headless CMS such as Strapi.
• Familiarity with test-driven development, coding best practices and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work well in a team.

Required skills

• Responsive web design and frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• React.js, Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworks (preferred).
• Knowledge of coding best practices and principles.
