Solution Architect

About the role

DWS is hiring a Solution Architect in Madrid within its Solution & Data Architecture team. The team shapes architecture patterns and guidelines and works with delivery teams, domain architects, security and data specialists to define functional and non-functional requirements, data strategies and services and applications. Solution architects also contribute to strategic patterns, decision trees and research on new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Break down functional and non-functional requirements into components, ingest pipelines, services and front ends, and work with data architects on an efficient model for managing and consuming data.
• Work with and coach engineers in implementing the suggested designs.
• Collaborate with domain architects and fellow architects on strategic architecture decision records, patterns and code for common problems, and help delivery teams defend designs before design authorities.
• Assess and research new technologies, derive usage patterns and keep the technology estate up to date.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in Java / .NET engineering and architecture.
• Prior experience in finance or asset management is a big plus.
• Ability to break down complex problems into implementable pieces, with strategic thinking and planning.

Required skills

• Java ecosystem, especially J2EE and Spring Boot, and building services with modern JDKs.
• Good understanding of .NET, TypeScript and Python is a plus.
• Experience deploying workloads to the cloud, preferably GCP.
• Experience designing or integrating ABAC or RBAC controls (IAM).
• TOGAF and SAFe experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to use AI tools productively and responsibly.
