Streaming & Media Technology Director

About the role

The Streaming & Media Technology Director holds full technical accountability for the platforms delivering Euroleague Basketball's streaming and media proposition across its competitions. EuroLeague TV (ELTV) and its OTT platform are central, supported by media asset management, automated content generation, publishing and distribution workflows and the historical media archive. The role owns the systems end to end, including architecture, roadmap, integrations, vendor governance, service quality, content protection and compliance, and leads the major technical programmes such as third-party content onboarding and delivery to partner platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own the OTT platform architecture and roadmap (ingest, encoding, packaging, playout, CDN, DRM, playback, metadata, delivery across web, apps, connected TV and console) and the day-to-day relationship with the platform provider
• Lead major platform programmes end to end, including entitlement and user data migration, release management, acceptance testing and go-live
• Implement subscription, entitlement, checkout and payment integrations and in-stream advertising
• Own playback quality, availability and performance standards across markets and devices
• Own technical onboarding of content from rights holders and delivery to channel stores, aggregators and partner platforms, with a repeatable onboarding process
• Own the media and digital asset management environment, the automated content generation stack and the content publishing model, driving automation of recurring manual tasks
• Own integrations with the game centre, broadcaster and club assets, identity and single sign-on, and partner and sponsor activations
• Implement the event taxonomy and tracking framework with Marketing Technology and Data, and ensure accurate data emission
• Define operational protocols for the streaming platform, track and resolve incidents, and turn recurring support cases into technical fixes
• Verify geo-restrictions, territorial holdbacks, blackout rules and consent frameworks, and manage entitlement and access including VIP and staff access
• Custody of the media archive (storage tiering, retention, preservation) and the content protection framework (DRM, watermarking, stream tokenisation, entitlement abuse controls)

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years in streaming, OTT or media technology, with direct technical ownership of a live consumer video platform
• Experience leading technical platform programmes in a live service environment, including integration design, data and entitlement migration, acceptance testing and cutover
• Experience with media asset management, automated content generation, entitlement models, territorial restrictions and third-party content onboarding
• Vendor governance experience: technical evaluation, SLA management, release and roadmap alignment, performance review
• Operations mindset, strong documentation discipline, and ability to work without a team beneath you and influence stakeholders
• Fluent English; Spanish and other European languages are a plus; EU nationality or valid Spain residence/work permit
• Occasional availability to support critical incidents during game nights
