Structured Notes Platform Development & Automation Associate / Vice President

About the role

Santander CIB is seeking a senior professional to design, industrialise and scale a global structured‑notes issuance platform, bridging business requirements with technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own functional design and delivery of platform enhancements, translating business needs into process maps, specifications and user stories.
• Design scalable front‑to‑back processes for MTN issuance, repack structures and open platforms covering pre‑trade to lifecycle events.
• Coordinate technology delivery with product owners, technology teams, operations and external providers, managing backlogs, testing and release planning.
• Develop document‑generation and data‑driven workflows for term sheets, legal documentation and regulatory reporting.
• Define and implement connectivity requirements with distributors and market infrastructures, including SPIRE.
• Identify manual tasks and control gaps, redesign processes and deliver automation to increase straight‑through processing.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in capital‑markets technology, business analysis or platform development (required).
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and deliver front‑to‑back solutions in a regulated environment (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or related field (required).
• High professional proficiency in English (required); additional languages such as German, Italian, French or Spanish are a plus.

Required skills

• Understanding of structured products, derivatives and front‑to‑back securities issuance processes.
• Experience with workflow automation, APIs or file‑based connectivity.
• Knowledge of document‑generation solutions and data‑governance practices.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies and production implementation within markets.
