Transport General Cargo Specialist – Spain

About the role

An opportunity for a Transport & Logistics Specialist has arisen within Airbus Operations in Getafe (Madrid). The Transport Operations team in Spain manages General Cargo Transport Operations (air, sea, road, and train) across the internal and external supply chain network. You will support the local Transport Manager in governing the Lead Transport Provider and driving operational excellence for inbound and outbound flows across Getafe, Illescas and Cádiz.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound transport flows for Airbus Operations Spain, ensuring strict adherence to service levels and customer expectations across plant‑to‑plant and vendor routes.
• Coordinate on‑site operations and cross‑plant transport processes across Spanish sites while acting as the primary point of contact for transportation logistics.
• Govern 3PL and 4PL service providers by controlling service quality, evaluating contract compliance, managing claims/complaints, and validating change or ad‑hoc requests.
• Define transport specifications aligned with internal customer requirements and support annual operational planning (AOP).
• Generate operational reporting including daily tracking logs, claim status updates, and performance metrics using digital transport tools.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in transport management, logistics operations, Incoterms and transport regulations within a 4PL model.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
