Travel & Expense Intern

About the role

Destinus, a Spanish defence company building unmanned aerial vehicles, offers a 4-month paid, full-time Travel & Expense internship in its international finance team in Madrid. You will support the team with real day-to-day work on expenses, reimbursements, receipts and internal systems, with full on-the-job training. The internship is open to students and recent graduates, and there is a possibility of transition to a permanent position depending on business needs, performance and mutual fit.

Key responsibilities

• Support the processing and review of employee expenses, receipts and related information
• Help respond to employee questions about expenses, reimbursements and internal processes
• Check information carefully and follow up when something is missing or incorrect
• Keep Travel & Expense records accurate, complete and organised
• Support reconciliations and other regular finance activities
• Learn the Travel & Expense systems and processes and use Excel to review and organise financial and transactional information
• Identify problems and opportunities to improve how the team works

Required profile

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management or a related field
• Attention to detail, good organisational skills and strong communication skills
• Fluent English, the main working language
• Full-time availability during the 4 months (35-40 hours per week)
• Previous exposure to finance, administration, customer service or operations is a plus, as is experience with Navan, Microsoft Dynamics or similar finance systems
