UX Designer, AI App

About the role

ActAI builds proactive applications for people who are not used to complex prompting, starting with an agent-first mobile communication app. As UX Designer, you will own the UX of the core app experience, designing end-to-end flows that feel clear, reliable and controllable. The role suits someone who understands both user needs and AI system behavior.

Key responsibilities

• Own the UX of the core app across iOS, Android and web.
• Design complete user flows for AI-assisted tasks, from intent capture to completion, including handoff, progress tracking and error recovery.
• Design how the app shows what the AI is doing, its decisions and what the user must confirm or adjust.
• Map and design the full range of AI states users encounter, such as loading, thinking, acting, waiting, completing, stalling and failing.
• Work with product, engineering and ML teams to turn user requirements into concrete design solutions.
• Conduct usability research to find where users lose trust, feel uncertain or disengage.
• Produce wireframes, user flows and high-fidelity designs that engineering can build from directly.
• Contribute to the design system and shared UX patterns for AI app surfaces.
• Design both simple everyday interactions and complex multi-step AI workflows.

Required profile

• Experience as a UX designer on consumer mobile or web apps, with a strong portfolio.
• Ability to design for systems that are asynchronous, non-deterministic and context-dependent.
• Clear thinking about user trust, control, feedback and transparency in AI-driven products.
• Experience conducting user research and turning findings into design decisions.
• Comfortable working in fast-moving teams with evolving product scope.
• Good judgment on usability, edge cases, failure handling and recovery flows.

Required skills

• User flow design, wireframing and high-fidelity prototyping in Figma.
• Usability research.
