Windows Systems Administrator

About the role

Destinus, a provider of UAV technology for defence and government agencies, is looking for a Windows Systems Administrator in Madrid. The role manages, secures and optimises a wide range of IT systems, with deep hands-on experience in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory and related infrastructure, keeping a proactive security mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and optimise Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, Entra ID, Intune)
• Support and maintain Windows Server environments: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, patching and backups
• Manage endpoints via Intune and Autopilot, including policies, compliance baselines and device lifecycle
• Customise Atlassian Jira and Confluence to fit team workflows and integrations
• Apply security best practices, ensure compliance, monitor systems and prepare for incident response
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across systems, cloud platforms and applications
• Advise IT support specialists on software and hardware configuration and help resolve complex incidents
• Contribute to IT strategy discussions and keep accurate documentation of systems, configurations and processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in Windows systems administration with broad Microsoft platform exposure
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory skills (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, replication)
• Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell
• Understanding of virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V) and storage technologies
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms (PRTG, SolarWinds, SIEM tools)
• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and frameworks such as ISO 27001, ABDO and NIS2

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft 365 administration, including identity, access control, automation, device management and incident resolution
• Deep understanding of OIDC, SAML 2.0, SCIM and MFA flows, and integration of SaaS platforms with Entra ID
• Solid knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
• Certifications are advantageous: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert or Azure Administrator Associate, Security+, MCSA / MCSE (Windows Server)
