About the role
MONEI is launching Tap to Pay on iPhone in Spain, turning any compatible iPhone into a full‑featured payment terminal. We need a Head of Sales to build the Card Present sales motion from scratch, define the go‑to‑market playbook, hire the first sales team and drive rapid merchant acquisition.
Key responsibilities
- Design and launch the sales organisation (BDRs, AEs, field reps, channel managers) and hire the initial 5‑10 members.
- Define the ideal customer profile, vertical focus and sales playbook for micro‑merchants, SMBs and mid‑market segments.
- Set quarterly revenue and merchant‑count targets, build reliable forecasts and own the numbers.
- Develop a channel strategy that combines direct sales, reseller and partner networks, and leverages the Apple ecosystem.
- Work with Finance and Product on pricing, MDR tiers and unit‑economics to maintain healthy contribution margins.
- Align with Marketing on demand generation, content and events, and feed field insights back into product development.
- Coach the team, run pipeline reviews and promote internal talent.
Required profile
- 5+ years of B2B sales leadership experience in a high‑growth scale‑up.
- Proven track record of building or rebuilding a sales team from a small base.
- Direct experience selling payments, POS, merchant services or SMB‑focused fintech in Spain or Southern Europe.
- Deep understanding of merchant acquiring economics and unit‑economics.
- Hands‑on operator mindset – comfortable pitching in cafés, salons and market stalls.
