Cloud Engineer – Data Platforms (Azure Databricks)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Cloud Engineer to join our Madrid team and work closely with the Data Science & AI group. The role focuses on building and operating Azure Databricks platforms, ensuring reliable production‑grade data pipelines and supporting AI workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and manage Azure Databricks workspaces, clusters, policies and related Azure services.
• Establish production‑ready processes, runbooks and incident response for data platforms.
• Support and harden ETL/ELT pipelines, including Delta Lake patterns and job orchestration.
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform/Bicep and Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• Apply security best practices, enforcing least‑privilege access and governance.
• Collaborate with Cloud Operations, security, governance and analytics teams to optimise performance and cost.

Required profile

• Pragmatic engineer with a strong focus on reliability and delivery.
• Experience working in hybrid environments and collaborating with data science teams.
• Ability to quickly resolve operational issues and automate deployments.
