Data Engineering Internship

About the role

Join TomTom's Maps team as a Data Engineering Intern and work alongside seasoned engineers to build scalable, cloud‑native data solutions. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from gathering requirements to testing and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, and integrate new data interfaces.
• Build and maintain highly available, resilient applications using optimal cloud technologies.
• Participate in agile development cycles, delivering iterative improvements.
• Contribute to the design of technical solutions that address complex, large‑scale problems.

Required profile

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, but AWS or GCP acceptable).
• Familiarity with data science and engineering pipelines, preferably on Databricks.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals: OOP, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Solid Python coding ability; knowledge of Java or Scala is a plus.
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries across different databases.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and a desire to learn.
