Mass Properties Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence & Space is looking for a Mass Properties Engineer to join its Flight Physics Department in Getafe, Madrid. You will work on the development, support and de‑commissioning of military transport and combat aircraft, ensuring optimal mass management throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define mass status, target mass and routes to achieve targets for new and derivative vehicles.
• Perform mass estimations, calculations, accounting and weight control, including validation by weighing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to challenge designs and optimise vehicle mass.
• Deliver mass models for loads analyses and conduct trade studies, benchmarking and competitor analyses.
• Support design reviews, weight maturity reviews and risk & opportunity tracking.
• Assist marketing with customer guarantees and vehicle delivery documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
• 0‑5 years of experience; experience in flight physics, structural design or mass properties is a plus.
• Advanced English; German is an advantage.
• Ability to work autonomously in an open, trusting environment.
