Microsoft 365 Specialist – Cloud Workplace Engineer

About the role

As a Microsoft 365 Specialist you will design, develop and operate GDELS' cloud‑based Modern Workplace built on Microsoft 365. You will ensure a secure, high‑performing digital environment for all employees and work closely with the IT Security and Networking teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and optimise core M365 workloads including Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online and Entra ID.
• Guarantee continuous availability, performance, scalability and reliability of the M365 ecosystem.
• Manage tenant‑wide configuration, service health monitoring, adoption governance and lifecycle management.
• Administer Microsoft Teams end‑to‑end: lifecycle, templates, naming, expiration, channel governance, meeting policies, Teams Rooms and compliance recording.
• Configure Teams‑SharePoint integration, permissions and document‑management best practices.
• Architect and manage SharePoint Online site collections, hubs, metadata structures, libraries, lists and DLP‑enforced collaboration policies.
• Oversee permission governance using Azure/Entra groups and role‑based access models.
• Support initiatives such as intranet evolution, content migration and site administration for business units.
• Govern OneDrive for Business environments, including synchronization and security settings.

Required profile

• Proven experience with the Microsoft 365 platform and its core services.
• Strong knowledge of Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online and Entra ID.
• Ability to collaborate with IT Security and Networking teams to ensure compliance and performance.
