Satellite AIT Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Satellite AIT Manufacturing Engineer will join Airbus Space Systems in Getafe, supporting one of the Space System Business Lines (Earth Observation, Telecom & Navigation, or Constellation). Integrated in a multi‑functional project team, the engineer will help develop, industrialise, produce and deliver fully functional spacecraft payloads and satellites to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering domains during the development phase to ensure design feasibility.
• Provide industrial expertise to multi‑disciplinary project teams.
• Analyse and optimise manufacturing technologies available at the Spain plant and with external partners.
• Ensure feasibility of thermo‑mechanical, electrical and mechanical integration and testing.
• Define and maintain the Material & Processes Selection List and the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM).
• Support the AIT manager and production staff on shop‑floor execution of breadboards, qualification and flight models.
• Assist on‑site at customer locations or spaceports during launch and test campaigns.
• Build and document AIT process definitions in line with engineering and design offices.

Required profile

• Experience with thermo‑mechanical assembly and integration of spacecraft instruments and payloads.
• Familiarity with electrical hardware integration on instruments and payloads.
• Knowledge of handling, loading and shipping of payloads and satellites.
