Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Clarivate is looking for a Senior Network/Infrastructure Engineer to join its Network Infrastructure Team in Barcelona. The team has six engineers and reports to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Engineering, and covers a wide range of technologies including Palo Alto firewalls, A10 load balancers, Cisco Spine/Leaf routing and switching and Imperva WAF. It is a full-time permanent position, primarily during core business hours in CET, with flexibility for global time zones and on-call work, and a hybrid setup of up to two days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise network infrastructure across layers 1-7.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues (LAN, WAN, wireless, security, load balancing) in complex environments.
• Deploy, configure and maintain network devices, including hardware, software and connectivity.
• Own network incidents and projects end to end, including scope, timelines and deliverables.
• Configure monitoring, alerting and automated escalations, and take part in on-call rotations.
• Contribute to standards, documentation, change management and mentoring within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity or equivalent education and certifications.
• At least 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering supporting complex, global environments.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, including design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, including security policy management and troubleshooting.
• Experience with network design, capacity planning and performance optimization for enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across routing, switching, security, VPN, wireless and connectivity.

Required skills

• Cisco routing and switching (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE or equivalent preferred)
• Palo Alto Panorama and advanced firewall administration
• VPN technologies such as IPSec, GRE, Route-Based VPNs and DMVPN
• SD-WAN and enterprise wireless technologies
• A10 Thunder Series and/or F5 load balancing
• Web Application Firewall (WAF) exposure, including Imperva
