Structural Design Engineer – Composite & Hybrid Structures

About the role

We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer specialized in composite and hybrid structures to join Airbus Defence & Space’s Aerostructures Design team in Getafe. You will work on the design, modification and certification of major airframe components for military and civil programmes, using state‑of‑the‑art 3DExperience tools and an agile development approach.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate composite/hybrid components and assemblies, optimising weight, cost and performance while ensuring safety.
• Define structural architecture and produce manufacturing and assembly documentation.
• Plan and follow up structural design deliverables, specifications for purchasing and interface with concurrent engineering teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, analysis, systems, test and supportability engineers, as well as external customers, partners and suppliers.
• Prepare structural design documents required for certification and technical proposals for new programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in aircraft structural design.
• Proven experience with composite structures and their certification processes.

Required skills

• Composite structures design and analysis.
• CATIA modelling.
• PDM/PLM tools and configuration management.
• 3DExperience platform.
