Structural Simulation Engineer – R&T Projects

About the role

Airbus Helicopters Spain is looking for a Structural Simulation Engineer to join its Research & Technology (R&T) team. You will work on the conceptual phases of new helicopter products and technologies, bridging advanced structural mechanics with data‑science approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Develop next‑generation simulation methodologies for composite, metallic and thermoplastic structures.
• Perform high‑fidelity FEA/FEM analyses, including non‑linear, dynamic and impact simulations.
• Automate and accelerate calculation workflows using Python scripting.
• Support design, stress verification, testing, certification evidence and in‑service customer support.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives within the structural department.

Required skills

• Python programming for automation.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA/FEM) using tools such as Abaqus or ANSYS.
• Advanced structural mechanics, non‑linear analysis, vibration and dynamics.
• Impact physics, high‑velocity dynamics and damage‑tolerance assessment.
• Simulation of composite, metallic and thermoplastic structures.
