Certification & Qualification Engineer

About the role

Airbus Helicopters España is seeking a Certification & Qualification Engineer to support airworthiness and configuration programmes within the AHE Airworthiness & Configuration Department. The role involves ensuring compliance with civil and military regulations while protecting the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Classify changes to the type certificate and repairs.
• Prepare certification and qualification plans for new variants or product changes.
• Identify applicable requirements and propose means of compliance with supporting evidence.
• Lead negotiations with airworthiness authorities and qualification agencies.
• Approve minor changes or repairs when applicable.
• Lead approval flight conditions and permit‑to‑fly processes, including military (e.g., CAE process).
• Validate and approve changes to flight manuals, ICA and OSD documents.
• Coordinate subcontracted activities that fall within the scope of the role.
• Collaborate with industry partners across different programmes.
• Support Compliance Verification Engineers (CVEs).
• Investigate major incidents as part of the continued airworthiness process.
• Maintain AHE Design Organization Approvals.

Required profile

• Master’s or degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience in certification and qualification or continued airworthiness (military or civil).
• Knowledge of EMAR, PERAM and EASA Part 21.
• Familiarity with Spanish Military Airworthiness Regulations (RAD, PERAM, INTA procedures).
• Understanding of EASA certification processes (valued).
• Knowledge of helicopter certification specifications (FAR 27/29, CS 27/29, FAR 25).
• Spanish native or proficient; English fluent.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
• Advisable knowledge of the NECTAR tool.
