Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Prosper AI, you will work side‑by‑side with AI product managers to identify technical opportunities that boost the performance of conversational AI agents for healthcare clients. You will build fast‑shipping features, integrate with complex EHR and payor systems, and ensure reliable real‑time voice interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Build fast‑shipping features, MVPs, and internal tooling across a FastAPI (Python) + PostgreSQL backend and React (TypeScript) frontend.
• Integrate and maintain connections with EHRs and payor systems, handling APIs, edge cases, and quirks.
• Debug high‑volume live systems, diagnosing and resolving issues for agents handling thousands of daily calls.
• Translate client feedback into product improvements, collaborating with AI PMs and engineering.
• Tune LLM prompting, voice and transcription settings, and conversation logic to improve realism and latency.
• Manage multiple client projects, prioritizing deadlines while maintaining quality.

Required profile

• Experience with software development through an internship or side project.
• Understanding of FastAPI (Python), PostgreSQL, and React (TypeScript) or equivalent stack.
• Experience working closely with clients and crafting creative solutions.
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents or other ML models.
• Founder mindset with ownership and hard work.
• Ability to support AI voice agents handling thousands of calls.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics or related field (or equivalent experience).
