Head of Platform Engineering

About the role

Seqera is looking for a leader to head its Platform Infrastructure team. You will own both the internal platform used by engineers and the infrastructure delivered to customers, ensuring it meets product‑grade quality.

Key responsibilities

• Own reliability, security and cost‑effectiveness of cloud infrastructure and platform health.
• Lead the technical launch of a dedicated single‑tenant hosting offering, including tenancy model, provisioning and upgrade strategy.
• Maintain Helm charts and Terraform provider as versioned, documented products.
• Define and enforce CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code standards from repo creation to production.
• Make cloud cost an engineering discipline with attribution, alerts and efficiency backlogs.
• Drive security posture through architecture reviews and enterprise‑grade security stories.
• Run formal incident response processes, including severity definitions, runbooks and blameless post‑mortems.
• Grow and mentor the Platform Infrastructure team, handling hiring and career development.

Required profile

• Proven leadership of infrastructure, platform or SRE teams with direct production responsibility.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, Helm and Terraform in enterprise environments.
• Track record shipping customer‑facing infrastructure that must be versioned, backward compatible and supported.
• Strong security expertise able to lead architecture conversations.
• Ability to treat cloud cost as an engineering responsibility and build commercial‑grade cost models.
• Experience building incident response processes and handling complex incidents.
