Strategic LTA & MRTT Fleet Resilience Engineer

About the role

The Strategic LTA & MRTT Fleet Resilience Engineer will join Airbus Defence and Space’s Air Power Services team in Getafe, Spain. The role focuses on ensuring the long‑term operability of the TMA fleet by anticipating and mitigating technical obsolescence, turning potential risks into strategic advantages.

Key responsibilities

• Map and analyse the obsolescence landscape across the LTA and MRTT fleet, developing predictive models to prevent downtime.
• Translate technical risk assessments into executive‑level investment strategies and road‑maps.
• Act as the primary line of defence against Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events, safeguarding operational availability.
• Design and optimise lifecycle plans that balance technology upgrades with capital efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering or customer‑service roles related to aircraft platforms (e.g., AMTAC).
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical information to both engineers and senior executives.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of MRTT and LTA/M&L aircraft platforms.
