Account Manager – Payments

About the role

Adyen, a financial technology platform providing payments, data and financial products, is looking for a proactive, adaptable Account Manager to join its Account Management team in Madrid. The role covers a wide portfolio of accounts across several verticals, working with international merchants and driving commercial growth and customer satisfaction. It is an office-based position in the Madrid office, with some domestic and international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with other Account Managers and collaborate on many different accounts.
• Ramp up and grow customers, focusing on commercial growth, customer satisfaction and reducing churn.
• Drive commercial discussions for joint accounts while meeting strategic and financial targets.
• Prioritize and manage short- and long-term projects across multiple accounts, using internal support teams where relevant.
• Act as a feedback loop for customers internally.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in a client-facing, commercial role such as account management, consulting, or the payments industry from the merchant side (a bonus if in complex enterprise software, technical infrastructure or financial services).
• Enjoys building strong working relationships internally and with customers.
• Passionate about a wide portfolio of accounts and learning about the payments industry.
• Eager to identify commercial opportunities and drive commercial discussions with customers.
• Strong time management skills and efficiency mindset.
• Full professional written and verbal Spanish and English; Portuguese is a bonus.
