Accountant I

About the role

Core Lab is hiring an Accountant I in Madrid, reporting to the Accounting Manager and/or Financial Manager. The role supports the shared services accounting department with monthly consolidation, management reporting, reconciliations and journal entries, working independently and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist on the monthly consolidation in Oracle, prepare consolidated journals, by-legal and trial balance, and verify foreign currency exchange rates uploaded into Oracle.
• Prepare internal management reports and monthly management books, and print and bind them.
• Review subsidiary ledger postings and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable; assist with bank reconciliations.
• Collect peer group stock prices quarterly and assist with quarterly and annual internal and external audit items.
• Support the accounting department with journal entry preparation, reconciliation, research and control procedures.
• Perform cash management functions and assist management in reviewing and interpreting financial reports.
• Work overtime as required by workload.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
• Familiarity with financial principles.
• Previous experience with Oracle and Microsoft Office (strong Excel required).
• Ability to read technical materials, write clear reports and communicate with managers, schedulers and clients.
• Good communication skills, ability to work independently and build teams.

Required skills

• Advanced use of MS Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and Oracle Financial Application (or other ERP software).
• Mathematical skills: calculations with decimals, ratios, percents, reading graphs and control charts.
• Follows company procedures such as the HSE Manual, Accounting Policies and Procedures, Ethics Policy and Compliance Code.
