AI, Data & Advanced Manufacturing Intern

About the role

HP Barcelona's Additive Manufacturing division is looking for an AI, Data & Advanced Manufacturing intern. The internship is paid, runs from February to June-July 2027 and lasts between 4 and 12 months, with part-time (4 h/day) or full-time (8 h/day) schedules. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Spanish university, stay enrolled until the end of the internship and be able to sign an internship agreement with their university.

Key responsibilities

• Prototype AI agents, reusable AI skills, technical knowledge assistants and LLM-powered workflows that help engineers solve real problems.
• Create Python tools, scripts and automations; connect data and systems through REST APIs and explore emerging integrations such as MCP.
• Analyze industrial data, build data pipelines, visualizations and dashboards, and turn insights into better engineering decisions.
• Build and demonstrate digital proof-of-concepts with the global ATC team, test ideas with users and improve tools through feedback.
• Learn HP Multi Jet Fusion and support real customer applications, including part quality, process optimization and production efficiency.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Previous 3D printing experience is not required.

Required skills

• Basic programming skills (ideally Python); interest in APIs, data analysis and AI agents.
• Familiarity with Git, SQL, LLM tools, MCP or automation is a plus.
