Aircraft Performance Engineer (d/f/m)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Aircraft Performance Engineer in Getafe (Madrid) to join the Aircraft Performance team of the Flight Physics Centre of Competence. This German-Spanish organisation covers the flight physics deliverables for all Airbus Defence & Space fixed-wing aircraft programmes. The role contributes to strategic targets such as digitalization, standardization, simplification and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Take accountability for aircraft performance activities across current and future programmes, R&D/T, certification and negotiations with authorities.
• Evaluate the impact of aircraft and engine configuration changes on performance, supporting the design phase of new programmes and derivatives.
• Carry out performance studies for sales campaigns, RFPs, customer enquiries and flight operations, including tools, documentation and in-service queries.
• Support flight data analysis for development, certification, training and incident or accident investigations.
• Implement capability, technology and digitalization roadmaps to harmonize and maintain tools and data management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Aircraft Performance processes, ensuring high-quality technical dossiers and OTOCOQ delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in Aircraft Performance (development, flight test and certification).
• Negotiation-level English; German and/or Spanish preferred.
• Strategic thinker with an owner mentality, able to work under pressure, customer-focused, with strong communication and conflict management skills, and willing to travel as required.
