Aircraft Performance Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is hiring an Aircraft Performance Engineer in Getafe (Madrid) to join the Aircraft Performance Team within the Flight Physics Centre of Competence, a German-Spanish organisation covering fixed-wing aircraft programmes. The engineer reports to the Head of Aircraft Performance and is accountable for performance deliverables across all AD&S fixed-wing programmes, supporting both design phases and in-service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead aircraft performance activities for current and future programmes, R&D/T projects, certification processes and direct negotiations with certification authorities.
• Contribute to the design of future programmes and derivatives, and evaluate the performance impact of aircraft and engine configuration changes.
• Carry out performance studies for sales campaigns, RFPs and customer queries, and support flight operations with tools, documentation, computerised operating data and in-service technical support.
• Support flight data analysis for development, certification, training and incident investigations, and implement roadmaps for tool harmonization, data management and digitalization.
• Deliver high-quality technical dossiers on time, on cost and on quality, drive technology roadmaps and expand the service portfolio.
• Contribute to team synergies, continuous process improvements and cross-functional communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft performance (development, flight test and certification).
• Advanced English and Spanish (written and spoken); German is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving and organizational skills, with a strategic mindset under pressure.
