Associate Applied (AI) Value Engineer (Japan) - Orbit Program

About the role

Celonis is recruiting an Associate Applied (AI) Value Engineer for its Orbit Graduate program, a 12-month immersive program that starts with onboarding in Madrid and relocates to Tokyo, Japan, where the customer base is in Japan. You will join the Global Value Engineering Center of Excellence and act as a trusted advisor to strategic customers, helping them industrialize AI with Celonis Process Intelligence and partners such as Microsoft, OpenAI and Databricks.

Key responsibilities

• Understand customers' AI strategy and business-critical challenges, and turn their requirements into solutions with Celonis Process Intelligence
• Build and code within the Celonis platform (SQL, PQL and Python) and prototype solutions in customer hackathons
• Support customers in moving from rule-based automation to autonomous AI agents, and deliver end-to-end Proof-of-Value projects
• Present the business value of solutions to senior executives and keep involved until agreed adoption thresholds are reached
• Specialize in domains or industries (e.g. supply chain) and contribute reusable collateral and best practices to the Center of Excellence

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics/Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related STEM field with excellent academic performance
• Extensive internship experience or 1-2 years of full-time work experience, ideally at the intersection of business and technology
• Fluency in Japanese and English (mandatory)
• Customer-centric mindset, confidence presenting to diverse audiences and strong organizational skills

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Python and common ML libraries (LangChain, pandas, pydantic, sklearn, PyTorch)
• Understanding of generative AI techniques such as RAG, few-shot learning, prompt/context engineering and multi-agent orchestration
• Bonus points: customer-facing or sales experience, hands-on proof-of-concept projects, LLM ecosystem tools, ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and supply chain process experience
