Associate – Banking & Financial Services, Madrid

About the role

Oliver Wyman is recruiting an Associate for its Banking & Financial Services practice in Madrid. The Associate joins a team working with the wider European partners and experts on finance and risk strategy, credit transformations, capital accuracy and models, smart pricing, strategic planning, financial resource management, and AI and risk modelling engagements, alongside the Data and Analytics specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, direct the focus of junior consultants and plan and execute analysis to craft recommendations.
• Work side by side with clients and project team members, managing small teams and moving projects forward.
• Provide clients with unique insight into the chosen subject area.

Required profile

• 3-6 years of relevant experience, ideally with leading consulting firms focused on Financial Services, or with banks (General Inspection) or FinTechs.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in STEM, finance or economics from a top university.
• Fluent business English and Spanish; excellent written and oral communication.
• Ability to solve problems through quantitative thinking, work collaboratively, handle pressure and travel worldwide.
• Nice to have: industry expertise in banking, especially credit risk and finance, CFA or other certifications, or an MBA from a top-tier university.

The role is based in Madrid and follows a hybrid model: colleagues must be in the local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week, with anchor days for team meetings.
