Associate Competitive Value Engineer

About the role

Celonis is looking for an Associate Competitive Value Engineer to join its global Competitive Engagement (RFX) team within the Value Engineering organization. The role sits at the intersection of competitive strategy, solution engineering and applied AI: it supports field teams on complex deals and high-stakes RFX responses, and builds the AI tools that make competitive work scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Competitive deal advisory: support Global Account Teams on key competitive deals, shaping the winning strategy with tactical guidance and technical differentiation alongside senior VEs, and join customer meetings when stakes are high.
• RFX orchestration and coaching: coach account teams and SMEs through the RFX response process, connecting the right experts and keeping responses on track.
• Applied AI product development: build and deploy AI tools such as agents that automate RFX responses, qualify bids, prepare discovery briefs and run win/loss analysis.
• Enablement: build self-service tools so the same competitive questions can be answered repeatedly across the global field.
• Market intelligence: support the Market Intelligence team in analyzing market shifts and competitor moves, including analyst evaluations such as the Gartner MQ.

Required profile

• Extensive internship experience or 1-2 years of full-time work in solution engineering, technical pre-sales, competitive intelligence or a fast-paced technology environment.
• Strategic mindset: able to identify what helps account teams differentiate Celonis and to coach them on positioning.
• Project and stakeholder management: driving multi-stakeholder processes to deadline, coordinating SMEs, sales and product.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and/or Python, and prior building or experimenting with LLM-based tools or AI agents.
• Ability to turn complex technical concepts into a clear value story for non-technical sales reps and customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation platforms such as Make.com, n8n or Zapier.
• Familiarity with RAG concepts and RFP/RFI experience.
• Background in a side project, small business or early-stage startup.
