Avionics Systems Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Avionics Systems Engineer (f/m) to join its Avionics Department in Getafe, Spain. You will be part of a team developing a Military Derivatives project, taking part in design and analysis activities that manage the interface between systems to support the overall aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop avionics systems for operational concepts
• Define requirements documents and technical specifications
• Carry out verification and validation: prepare test procedures, run development tests and/or monitor formal tests, analyse test results and reports
• Contribute to program milestones and reviews, support the whole design process and qualification and certification

Required profile

• Master's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science or a comparable discipline
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a related field
• Proven experience in airborne avionics systems
• Security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognised authorities

Required skills

• Desirable: aircraft avionics, software test engineering, requirements-based engineering, equipment/system-level development
• Good knowledge of aeronautical regulations such as ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160
• Analytical thinking, independent working style and good communication skills
• Ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary team and interface with stakeholders from different domains, functions and countries
• Negotiation level in English
