Backend Developer - Spark/Scala (Remote, Spain Relocation)

About the role

Talan, an international consulting group with over 7,200 consultants in 21 countries, is looking for an experienced Backend Developer with strong Apache Spark and Scala expertise. You will develop and maintain backend solutions, working closely with the squad from user stories and coding through testing, UAT support and production validation. This is a full-time, permanent position with 100% remote working.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and implement user stories and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from development through testing and production validation.
• Develop and run unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with the Agile squad to deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
• Support UAT, production validation and deployment, and troubleshoot technical issues when needed.
• Work according to Agile methodologies and take part in team ceremonies and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience developing with Apache Spark and Scala.
• Solid experience with PL/SQL and with Control-M.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Good understanding of software development best practices, testing and production support.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
