Backend Engineer (Security Services)

About the role

T-Systems Iberia is looking for a Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to develop and improve its T Cloud Public platform in a customer-oriented way. The role suits someone who wants to solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scaler's cloud backend, work hands-on with hardware and consoles, and build a secure, automated infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scaler's cloud backend.
• Work hands-on with hardware and consoles.
• Develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance.
• Automate consistently using common automation frameworks.
• Work in a team of specialists in an open and trusting way.

Required profile

• Completed studies in a technical, engineering or scientific subject, or comparable professional training.
• 6 years of professional experience in IT and securing Linux OS, with a focus on modern cloud technologies.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Very good knowledge of software-defined networks, routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Anti-DDoS, WAF and physical networks.
• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure automation.
• Strong experience in Linux, network-related services and IT security.
• Knowledge of agile development processes.
• Ability to assess technical solutions and propose creative approaches.
• OpenStack and open-source programming experience is a plus.
