Cloud Network Engineer (Azure)

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is looking for a Cloud Network Engineer (Azure) to act as the technical anchor of its global cloud networking services. The role sits within the IT Production team, which delivers and supports SGS's worldwide network and cloud services, and reports to the Global Head of Network Services. It combines architectural network design with hands-on operations and acts as a Level 3 escalation expert for global delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and continuously improve SGS's global cloud network services for optimal performance and reliability.
• Support the Network Lead in implementing the global cloud network strategy and onboarding key initiatives.
• Design, deploy, optimize and operate Azure networking services such as VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway/WAF, Private Endpoints and Virtual WAN.
• Evaluate and use modern cloud-native networking technologies to improve performance and architecture.
• Provide Level 3 support for cloud and hybrid network incidents, resolving them with service providers to meet SLAs.
• Work with security, engineering and integration teams to strengthen global cloud and hybrid connectivity.
• Support Change, Problem and Incident management and take part in governance, architecture and planning discussions.

Required profile

• Tertiary or higher education in Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Azure certification (AZ-700, AZ-104 or AZ-305).
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud networking in large-scale environments.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform or Bicep) and integrating Azure with on-premises environments.
• Experience in engineering or NOC/SOC operational environments.
• Excellent English and experience working with international teams.

Required skills

• Cloud and hybrid network architectures: Azure hub/spoke, Virtual WAN, routing, BGP, DNS, network security and Zero Trust.
• Strong teamwork, stakeholder collaboration, calmness under pressure and solid problem-solving.

Nice to have: CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP-ENT or Network+; AWS or GCP networking certifications; knowledge of SASE/SSE cloud security models; ITIL Foundation certification.
