About the role
We are looking for a Community Associate based in Spain to join a global open‑source community. In this people‑focused position you will help shape how contributors, users, and enthusiasts feel connected, supported, and recognized across digital channels, events, and meet‑ups.
Key responsibilities
- Create and share community stories such as contributor spotlights, project highlights, and personal journeys.
- Engage with the community on Discord by welcoming members, facilitating discussions, and organizing events like AMAs or watch parties.
- Manage and grow social media channels in partnership with marketing, ensuring authentic and engaging content.
- Support planning and execution of online and in‑person events, handling logistics, communications, and post‑event content.
- Coordinate contributor recognition initiatives, including swag distribution.
- Capture and repurpose community content (videos, recaps, tutorials) to amplify engagement.
- Collaborate with moderators and cross‑functional teams to keep community spaces healthy and aligned with values.
Required profile
- 2‑3 years of experience in community management, social media, communications, or content creation.
- Hands‑on experience with Discord community moderation and engagement.
- Proven ability to manage social media accounts with genuine audience interaction.
- Experience supporting or organizing events, including logistics and on‑the‑ground execution.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
