Job description
About the role
Lastminute.com, a European travel-tech leader in dynamic holiday packages, is looking for a Consolidation & Statutory Reporting Specialist to help produce the Group's consolidated financial statements under IFRS. The team is small, with no layer between you and the output: you own workstreams end to end, report directly to the Head of department and sit at the intersection of local finance teams, Group functions and external auditors. The position is permanent (100%), based in Chiasso (CH), Romania or Spain, with very limited travel.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation, analysis and release of the Group consolidated financial statements and related reporting in line with IFRS, internal control requirements and the Group monthly financial calendar.
- Prepare, maintain and execute reconciliations of consolidated ledger accounts and statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, equity, capital expenditure and intercompany schedules).
- Carry out consolidation adjustments and intercompany calculations under the Group's Transfer Pricing policies, and reconcile the Group net financial position monthly.
- Review reporting packages prepared by local finance managers in Tagetik, support the Impairment Test (IAS 36), and draft interim and annual disclosures.
- Draft accounting memoranda on IFRS topics, prepare presentation slides for management, and support forecasts and financial modelling.
- Develop, test and maintain consolidated reports in Tagetik, design internal controls over financial reporting, and maintain procedures, reporting guidelines and the Group Chart of Accounts.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and consultants, act as a reference for local finance teams, and liaise with Tax and Corporate Planning & Reporting.
Required profile
- Master's degree in accounting or finance.
- At least three years in technical accounting and financial reporting with deep IFRS knowledge, gained in a large multinational group, an audit or consultancy firm.
- Deep knowledge of consolidation rules and techniques.
- Professional-level English, written and spoken; practical fluency in AI tools such as Claude, with the judgment to verify outputs.
- Desirable: audit experience in a Big 4 firm and working knowledge of Tagetik or a comparable system.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, large data sets)
- Solid working knowledge of Google Workspace, especially G-Sheets
- Tagetik or a comparable consolidation and reporting system (desirable)
What we offer
- Inclusive, international environment with colleagues from more than 10 countries.
- Shorter working week (36 hours as full time), with a half day on Fridays free of meetings.
- Flexible start and end times, and the option to work from anywhere for periods defined by local regulations.
- Training paths, e-learning platforms and internal training.
- Two paid days off per year for volunteering, occasional social events, travel industry discounts and staff fares.
